Wye Valley Canoes, The Boat House, Glasbury, HR3 5NP
Your trip will start from our private launch site The Boat House. There is some on-site parking but also a free public car park opposite our launch. Before departing in your canoes will we take you through a paddle and safety briefing ensuring everyone has the ability to safely navigate down the river.
All child participants require a minimum of a 1:1 adult to child ratio. All child participant must be aged 14+ for this trip.

Day 1
Embark on a day 1 of your canoeing adventure along the majestic River Wye. Starting at our private launch from the Wye Valley Canoe centre in Glasbury, you’ll navigate through the famous town of books, Hay-on-Wye. Enjoy a delightful lunch break before continuing your journey into the English countryside, concluding at Whitney-on-Wye. Rest and rejuvenate at the charming riverside pub, The Boat Inn or Locksters Pool is perfect setting for a wild camping experience.
Day 2
Day 2 begins in Whitney-on-Wye, immersing you deeper into enchanting Herefordshire countryside, surrounded by lush orchards. Paddle onward to the charming Bredwardine, a perfect summer spot with a tranquil swimming spot, and conclude your voyage in idyllic Preston-on-Wye at Byecross Farm Campsite. We will arrange your collection and return to your cars in Glasbury.
- Wear lightweight clothing that you are happy to get wet in – We recommend fast drying fabrics.
- Avoid jeans where possible.
- Comfortable footwear that are secured to your feet that you are happy to get wet – i.e. old trainers.
- Wellington boots and flip flops are not suitable.
- Dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.
- A mobile phone – We require at least 1 mobile phone per boat whilst out on the river.
- Fluids and snacks.
- High factor sunscreen is highly recommended.
- A warm jumper or jacket – In case you get wet and cold.
- A full change of clothes.
- We operate a zero tolerance to alcohol and drugs.
- Speakers, please leave them at home.
- Expensive jewellery. Watches, cameras, video cameras ETC if not waterproof. We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to any of your items.
